Overview of the int.eu.grid project middleware

Speaker:
David Rodriquez Gonzalez

The int.eu.grid (i2g) project objective is to deploy a production interactive grid infrastructure with advanced visualization capabilities and parallel jobs support.
We will review some of the main middleware elements of the project that apart from their functionality are required to maintain EGGE-compatibility:

- CrossBroker: the project's Resource Broker that provides support for scheduling and executing parallel, interactive jobs. It also provides a fast start-up mechanism for interactive jobs based on Condor Glide-in.

- Migrating Desktop: a platform-independent GUI that allows users to access grid resources. It provides a plugin mechanism for extending its funcionality, allowing, for instance, to develop
application specific GUIs.

- glogin: an interactive grid service that offers bidirectional connection between a grid resource and the user's desktop machine.

- Gvid video player: enables java based clients to display a video-stream and supports user interaction.
