Peer Ranking in OpenKnowledge

SSP Seminar Series
Dave Robertson

Versions of the Page Rank algorithm have been used with great success by systems that rank Web pages for Web browsers. I shall describe a Peer Rank algorithm similar to Page Rank but adapted to sharing of interacting protocols peer to peer (in the style deployed in the OpenKnowledge system - see I shall then show results from simulated peer groups that show how we can get population level behaviours from Peer Rank analogous to the ones that have made Page Rank so successful. I shall also say a little about what I guess this might mean for ontology mapping and trust in this sort of system.
