Ontology-Based Automatic Workflow Composition for Analysing Ecological Videos

SSP Seminar Series
Speaker:
Gaya Nadarajan

We present a semantics-based workflow composition system to assist automatic video processing for underwater ecological videos of varying qualities. The system utilises planning and ontologies, and may be used in a distributed computing environment, such as the Grid. An example workflow composition for video classification, fish detection and counting is demonstrated, providing insight into challenges for the full implementation of a planning-enacted workflow engine. Further steps for improvement in the generation of more scalable plans is discussed. Ultimately, we aim to achieve automation and flexible support for naive users (e.g. domain experts) to conduct complex video processing tasks.
