Drexel University Applied Communications & Information Networking Program

SSP Seminar Series
Speaker:
Kyle Usbeck

Kyle Usbeck [1] is a second-year masters student at Drexel University [2] in Philadelphia, USA and a Software Engineer at Drakontas LLC. [3] visiting the University of Edinburgh. He is presenting the work done under the Applied Communications and Information Networking (ACIN) project [4], with particular emphasis towards the Secure Wireless Agent Testbed (SWAT).

ACIN is a multi-year research, development, testing, and evaluation program designed to successfully deploy command and control technology for the United States Department of Defense. As a research project of ACIN, SWAT explores interoperability and information assurance for network-centric, agent-based systems operating on live mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs). Thus, SWAT combines research in areas of ad-hoc wireless networking, multi-agent systems, agent-based security, and software engineering. The talk focuses on SWAT's use of agents, the recent challenges SWAT has faced, and some of the current projects.
