Screencast: A Rapid portal for Parallel TCoffee running on HECToR

We show a screencast of a portlet created for Parallel TCoffee—the first parallel implementation of the TCoffee multiple sequence alignment tool. The portlet was developed using our Rapid technology and shows how TCoffee can be run on the UK National Academic Supercomputer HECToR. To see this demo you require Flash to be installed.

Screencast:A Rapid portal for computational chemistry on HECToR, the UK-national academic supercomputer

Below a screencast where Rapid was used to develop a portal for the UK-national academic supercomputer HECToR. The portal shows how to setup an advanced compute job involving computational chemistry. You need Flash installed in the browser to watch the video below. Click here for a large version

Screencast: annotating embryo models on-line in a web browser

Screencast of a prototype for the JISC-funded project "Next Generation Embryology" where biologists can annotate 3D objects that represent models of mouse and human embryos with arbitrary bits of information held in a DSpace repository. Here we show what the interface looks like.

Screencast: Rapid Portal for the Open Microscopy Environment

We show a quick prototype where Rapid is integrated with the Open Microscopy Environment developed in Dundee (http://www.openmicroscopy.org/) to allow analysis and visualisation of microscopy images on remote compute resources.

Screencast: Installation of Rapid using LifeRay as the portal framework

We show a 2-minute screencast of the installation of Rapid that includes LifeRay as the portal. Shows how to get the basic "Hello World!" portlet gets installed into the portal. You need Flash installed in the browser to watch the video below. Click here for a large version

Screencast: Rapid Portal for Brain Imaging

We show a screencast of an example portal created using Rapid, which enables perfusion imaging in the context of brain imaging for stroke. To see this demo you require Flash to be installed. Perfusion imaging allows locating which parts of the brain are affected by a stroke in terms of oxygen deprivation.

Screencast: Rapid Delivers a Custom Portal for the EaStCHEM Project

We show a screencast of a portlet created for the EaStChem project, which is the premier Chemistry research school for Chemistry in Scotland and one of the largest in the UK, with around 500 researchers. The portlet allows chemists to run the most popular simulation software Gaussian 03 and visualises their results in 3D through the use of JMol. To see this demo you require Flash to be installed.

Screencast: Rapid Delivers a Custom Portal for the nanoCMOS Project

We show a screencast of a portlet created for the nanoCMOS project, which a UK consortium to use e-Science and Grid technology to tackle nano-CMOS design challenges. The portlet involves running a number of simulations of nano-scale electronic designs using ngspice, of which certain results are then aggregated in a graphical plot. To see this demo you require Flash to be installed.
